Works with vector PDFs (exports from CAD, Illustrator, plotted drawings). Scanned/photo PDFs contain no vector data and cannot be converted this way. Output opens in AutoCAD via OPEN or DXFIN — units are millimetres by default.

Best with clean line drawings, logos or silhouettes on a plain background. Strokes are traced as their outlines (double lines), so expect to tidy the result in AutoCAD. Photos and noisy scans trace poorly.
